Organizations Responding to Society’s Call for Diversity and Equity

Title

Organizations Responding to Society’s Call for Diversity and Equity

Description

On May 25th, 2020, George Floyd died in police custody after shouting “I can’t breathe” while officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck. A video recording of the encounter surfaced on the internet and citizens across the United States protested. Along with these protests came pleas for a more equitable country. The goal of this research was to see how and if companies are responding to society’s calls for diversity, equity, and inclusion. After investigating common public relations strategies, the researcher sought to understand how and if practices have changed as a result of the nationwide protests.
